The J.B. Hunt Transport Services Cancer Support Home offers no-cost lodging, support services, and compassionate care — sustained entirely by the generosity of our community.
"Every service we provide is at no cost. Every dollar we spend is donated. No hospital funding. No government subsidies. Just a community that believes no one should face cancer alone."
Since 1995, the Cancer Support Home has been a beacon of hope for Northwest Arkansas families navigating a cancer diagnosis.
Unlike most hospital programs, the Cancer Support Home receives no funding from Washington Regional's operating budget. Every light kept on, every meal served, every wig fitted — it all comes from donors, grants, and community partners who believe in this mission.
That independence is powerful, but it also means the Home faces real financial pressure every single year to sustain the services families depend on.
The new 9,980 sq ft facility was made possible by a $4.1 million community fundraising campaign — led by J.B. Hunt's capstone gift of $1.5M.
From overnight stays to financial aid, every program exists because donors made it possible. Open to all cancer patients — not just Washington Regional patients.
Eight fully furnished guest suites with private baths for patients traveling to NWA for treatment. Each room accommodates the patient plus a support companion.
No-Cost LodgingA private boutique stocked with wigs, hats, scarves, bras, and breast forms — fitted by compassionate staff in a comfortable, dignified setting.
Mon–Fri, 9–4Emergency financial assistance covering cancer screenings, diagnostics, rent, utilities, car payments, and phone bills — helping patients keep life intact during treatment.
Financial AidA dedicated navigator provides individualized guidance from diagnosis through every stage of treatment — addressing fears, finances, and quality of life.
Personalized CareRegular peer groups for survivors, caregivers, and families — including specialized sessions for oral, head, and neck cancer patients.
CommunityNo-cost early-detection breast cancer screenings and diagnostic testing plus financial assistance through the No Excuses Program for those without coverage.
Early DetectionRunning a nearly 10,000 sq ft home with eight guest suites, two kitchens, laundry, and full-time staff — all without charging a single patient — requires constant community support.
When a patient walks through our doors and pays nothing, that cost doesn't disappear — it's absorbed by donors who believe in this mission. Here's what keeps the Cancer Support Home running every single day:
Maintaining a 9,980 sq ft home on 4.4 acres including HVAC, water, electricity, landscaping, and building upkeep year-round.
Full-time employees providing boutique fittings, patient navigation, counseling, overnight coordination, and administrative support.
Stocking two kitchens, laundry facilities, linens, pantry supplies, and maintaining eight fully furnished suites with private baths.
Continuously sourcing wigs, hats, scarves, prosthetics, bras, and breast forms in a range of sizes and styles to meet every client's needs.
The Cancer Support Home thrives because of people who step up. Whether it's a financial gift, donated goods, or your time — every contribution directly sustains a patient's journey.
One-time or recurring gifts fund daily operations. Memorial and honorary contributions are also welcomed through the Washington Regional Foundation.
Greet clients, organize the boutique, assist with events, or help keep the Home running smoothly. Volunteers are the heartbeat of this place.
Businesses can sponsor programs, fund specific services, or organize employee giving campaigns. J.B. Hunt's leadership gift set a powerful example.
Many patients and families don't know this resource exists. Sharing our story helps connect people to care when they need it most.
Our family was moved by the support available through the Cancer Support Home to those navigating the unfamiliar road of a cancer diagnosis. We wanted to be part of easing the burden and relieving some of the stress of an already stressful situation for cancer patients and their families.— The John & Tamara Roberts Family, Campaign Chairs
